        ROEL JACOBS:
A Donkey Story about Roel Jacobs

          | |
          | Roel
Jacobs is one of the most versatile saxophone players in
the Antwerp music Scene today and has been for quite some years
              now. |
          | |
          | At
the age of 15, already part of the legendary 80's ska collective
The Skyblasters, he became a regular of the Antwerp blues and roots
circuit through the Dizzy Dave Band. which later would be somewhat
reshaped into The Seatsniffers as we know them today : THE Quintessential
Roots Band of Belgium. A much in demand session musician, he has
recorded with The Whodads, Mambo Chillum, The O'Haras, The Belgian
              Afro Beat Association, ... |
          | |
          | To
nurture his love for ska, he has formed the Internationals together
with Dennis Dellaert and Kristiaan "Boss Beer" Bosschaert.
The group has been, somewhat unfortunately, cathegorised as part
of the (in)famous Antwerp Party Scene, when, in fact, the main focus
should lay on the sheer craftmanship of these high skilled musicians.
No need to convince The Mad Professor nor The Skatalites, however...
